1. How did you start your business?
Our first daughter, Maddie was born in June 2023. Whilst I was off work on Maternity leave I was trying to think of ways I could afford to go back to work part time (I am a Cardiac Physiologist working both in the NHS & Private sector) and start my own little business that would hopefully one day grow so that I could have a better work/life balance and spend more time with my daughter whilst she grows up, as these early years are so precious.
After attending a relatives party earlier this year, where they had hired some soft play for the children, I thought to myself that this was a brilliant idea! Whether it was fate or luck (I strongly believe in fate as I go through life), a week or so later, I was scrolling through Instagram and came across a local soft play company who was looking to sell her business due to personal reasons… What was even more strange was that it turned out we lived in the same village!
Everything fell into place and I am so glad I took that leap! I can now work around my daughter organising events and providing brilliant soft play set-ups for all the little ones to enjoy. I have since been working hard on promoting the business and expanding our available packages.
2. How did you get involved within the wedding industry?
I am actually a September 2024 bride myself, so we are in the final weeks of planning and sorting our wedding eek!
We have 7 of our family and closest friend’s children attending our wedding, 5 of which are under 4 years old. When researching entertainment for young children at weddings I really struggled! Whether that is because there is a gap in the market or a lack of advertising I am not sure…We’ve actually ended up booking wedding nanny’s to attend our wedding and help care for our daughter and the other children (I’d definitely recommend looking that up!) - We booked this before I took over Yorkshire Puddings.
Since taking over Yorkshire Puddings Play Company in April, I’ve had some friends also ask me if I can bring the soft play to their weddings to provide entertainment for the little ones. That’s when I realised that these set ups aren’t just for birthdays etc, so we began creating special packages purely for weddings.
There is so much controversy over children at weddings… but why should there be? Most of the time they get a bad reputation because they are simply bored… that’s where we step in! By providing luxury soft play for under 5’s, your youngest guests will be entertained and having so much fun whilst you are celebrating with your adult guests.
3. What makes your services unique?
Your wedding is bespoke to you, so why shouldn’t your soft play be also. We are flexible! We will work along side you and your venue to create the best layout and plan for your day. We have designed a specific wedding package which we use as a starting point to help us deliver everything you need.
4. What can a couple expect from you either on the day of their wedding or in the build up to their big day?
We are always around for those last minute questions! Just drop us a message with any questions/changes etc and we will get it sorted. Those final parts of planning a wedding are all about logistics and timings and we will chat to yourselves/ your wedding planner to ensure it all runs smoothly. On the day we will turn up and set up your soft play package so it looks perfect! We will then return at our designated time to tidy it all away and leave you with no jobs other than to have fun!
5. What is your favourite part of a wedding day?
Apart from saying “I do”, I would say it’s getting all of your loved ones on the dance floor together to celebrate!
6. Can you advise your booking process?
Simply send us a message with your date, location and a rough idea of what you’re looking for. We will get back to you as soon as possible and get the ball rolling.
To secure your date with us, we ask for a £80 security deposit and for our booking form to be completed - This security deposit is then refunded to you within 48hrs of the event providing no damage etc to the equipment (all explained in the T&Cs)
We will then be in contact with you closer to the date to reconfirm, check all options and finalise timings for the big day. We are always there if you have any questions in the meantime!
7. Are you appearing at any wedding fairs, where our couples can meet you in person?
We currently don’t have any booked in for 2024 as we concentrate on getting through our own wedding plans but it is something we would love to do next year!
8. Any other info you would like to include, for example; packages, availability, offers.
Our “I do” package starts from £180 which includes our largest all white soft play set up, personalised vinyl (e.g. Mr & Mrs Oliver) and all set up and cleaning is included. We can then personalise your set up to match in with your wedding colour scheme.

However please don’t fret if your venue is smaller and you don’t feel you’d have the space for all we can also tailor packages to suit.

Prices include all day hire with pick up before the evening adult partying begins, at a small cost and depending on venue restrictions soft play is able to be kept for the evening and picked up the following day (subject to availability)
