Ray Snowdon is a seasoned pianist, based in the North East of England, who began his musical career whilst only a teenager.
Bitten by the music bug from an early age, he has enjoyed a long career playing in function bands, on the UK theatre and festival circuit (yep, Glastonbury 2002!) and latterly duos and trios. In 2007, Ray was asked to play his first solo wedding for a friend and he really enjoyed the opportunity!
Four years ago, Ray decided to finally make the move to become a full-time musician, after gaining the confidence and freedom to play alone and specialising in the wedding market. Ray is available to travel across the whole of Yorkshire and further afield.
Ray's attitude towards every 'gig' is to bring his 'A' game, and he always strives to offer his couples the very best in not only performance, but also customer service, before and after their special day. This can certainly be confirmed by reading the multitude of 5* reviews he receives from his couples!
Ray believes that melodies do indeed turn into memories, and loves providing magical memories for his couples. His favourite part of a wedding is the bridal entrance, which is always"full of happy emotions".
Ray's approach to your day begins normally with a FaceTime or Zoom call to discuss your requirements and answer any questions. If you would like to proceed, a deposit is taken and your date confirmed. 90 days before, he’ll get in touch to start discussing music for your day, and Ray does take song requests should you wish to have a particular song played for the entrance, or during the day. He offers a full repertoire of music, from classical to modern.
On the day, Ray is normally on-site 2.5 hours prior to your ceremony or reception. You can be assured of Ray's full attention on your special day, as he only takes one booking per day. He also has the availability of up to 3 pianos, that can be set-up across your venue(s) on the day. This provides a smooth transition from ceremony to reception to wedding breakfast.
